Notice of Races
? Introduction
The Sea View One-Design Dinghy Class of the Sea View Yacht Club (the ?Class?) will provide a season of races from July until September annually, as detailed in the Sea View Yacht Club Fixtures List.
? Rules
Races will be governed by the Sea View Yacht Club 's Standing Sailing Instructions, Class Rules and this Notice of Races.
? Entries
? Races are open to all Class Dinghies and to all Members of the Class, both as defined under the Class Constitution. Unless otherwise stated for individual races, eligibility as a Cadet requires all of the crew to be under 18 years old.
? Entry shall be by legibly and unambiguously printing the helmsman's name against his or her Dinghy's sail number on the sheet that will be provided by the Race Committee before each race. Cadets are advised to write ?C? after their names.
? The Class Committee may, prior to a race or races, grant exemptions from paragraph 3.2 above. Helmsmen with such exemption shall ensure that the Race Committee has recorded them as entered prior to the start of each race.
? If, in the opinion of the Race Committee, the Class Captain or his nominee, the weather conditions and/or available rescue resources are not suitable other than for the most experienced helmsmen, he may reject or cancel the entry of any Dinghy under Rule 76.
? Helmsmen or crew under 18 years old shall not race without the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. The Race Committee may require such approval in writing. Failure to provide such approval shall provide grounds for rejection or exclusion under Rule 76.
? Entry to races and qualification for points is dependent on completion of any forms required by the Sea View Yacht Club, for example a disclaimer of liability.
? Hiking (Sitting out) Restriction
No competitor shall hike (sit out) in a position where both knees are on or outboard of the gunwale. This amends Rule 49.
? Scoring
The Scoring Systems applicable to individual races and to series of races is set out in the Class Scoring Systems as amended by the Class Committee or Annual General Meeting.
? Prizes
? Temporary Members are not eligible for Prizes.
? Certain Prizes may be restricted to those present in person at the presentation. The Race Committee will give advance notice of such Prizes and the time and the place of the presentation.
